Interface Design (UX)

How do you take something as simplistic as a floating action button (FAB) and inject personality and sub-actions to make it a truly interactive element? In these various design concepts lay the roots to what has officially launched this year with great effect. These are all different takes on the same design challenge.

It starts with a motion study. Micro interactions and secondary movement help sell the experience. By spending a few minutes on a greyscale motion study, timing and interaction can develop naturally.

Once the motion and micro interactions are mapped out, the high fidelity prototype can be built and presented to stakeholders for review.

There are times when a concept begs for motion studies. In particular collection of samples, I was given the task of creating a simple FAB (floating action button) that would show various states when clicked.
